Sarsaparilla is the key ingredient in root beer, but it does have some culinary uses as well. Sarsaparilla is fairly bitter, so it is recommended that you use it with other herbs, rather than on its own. It is also known to have some medicinal properties.
Use in root beer, gin, BBQ sauce, smoked or slow cooker chicken, seafood and rice.
