Nigella is sometimes known as black cumin seed, black caraway seed or onion seed and is used most often in western Asia and southern Europe. With a slight bitterness and a flavor that combines onion, pepper and oregano, nigella adds depth to many dishes.
Use in curries, kormas, pilafs, fruits and pickled vegetables. Or sprinkle on breads or rolls.
