Mombasa is a hot chili from Africa, also known as African Bird Cayenne. Hotter and more flavorful than regular cayenne pepper, it can be used to season just about anything that needs a little kick. Very popular in Portuguese dishes, Mombasa is often used, not just for its great flavor, but for its many health benefits.
Use to season meats, beans, rice, soups or anything that needs a kick. Great for steaming crabs, or simply use it as a replacement for ground pepper.
