Fennel Seed is an aromatic, anise-like spice, often used in Tuscan cooking. It adds an Italian flair to many dishes, but is seen in dishes from around the world. Fennel is also known to have medicinal properties.
Use in meatloaf, sausage or meatballs to add authentic Italian flavor. Toast seeds to accentuate flavor. Fennel can be substituted for anise.
